What Features Will the S26 Ultra Have?

Let’s take a closer look at five key features and specs the S26 Ultra could include, based on recent leaks and rumors:

  1. Design

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be significantly thinner than the previous generation – 7.9 mm vs the S25 Ultra’s 8.2 mm! It could also feature rounded corners and a titanium frame, with Corning’s tough Gorilla Glass Victus 2 material protecting the back.

These specs are confirmed by photos from technology analyst Ice Universe, which display three screen protectors with thin bezels and rounded edges.

Like previous generations, the S26 series keeps the built-in S Pen, too. However, it could be one of the last to feature this stylus, since it takes up precious battery and hardware space.

  1. Colors

Even more leaked images from Ice Universe show SIM card trays with four potential colors. However, according to a more recent report from reliable tipster Evan Blass, the six options will be:

  • Black Shadow

  • White Shadow

  • Silver Shadow

  • Sky Blue

  • Cobalt Violet

  • Pink Gold

This lineup doesn’t include any bolder color options as previous reports hinted at, such as the iPhone 17 Pro’s Cosmic Orange.

  1. Display

On the surface, the S26 Ultra appears to feature the same 6.9-inch screen as its predecessor, with an adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate. However, it could utilize a new M14 OLED panel that would boost the peak brightness to 3000 nits. Other rumors suggest the display may remain at 2600 nits.

We do know that the premium Galaxy phone will feature Corning Gorilla Glass Armor 2, creating the first-ever anti-reflective, scratch-resistant display.

Another new feature we can’t miss out is the Privacy Display, which was first spotted in the One UI 8.5 software code. This adds an automatic privacy screen to your phone, preventing unwanted eyes from reading confidential information. There’s no longer any need to purchase a dedicated privacy screen filter (although we’d still recommend a tempered glass protector to stop scratches and cracks!).

Privacy Display was accidentally confirmed in a Good Lock upgrade blog post from Samsung Executives, where a dedicated management button for the feature is clearly visible. It will likely be exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, since it requires a Flex Magic Pixel OLED panel that only the Ultra has.

However, some South Korean reports suggest Privacy Display could feature across the entire Galaxy S26 series!

  1. Performance

Like all previous Galaxy S models, the S26 Ultra will receive a new chip. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is built using an advanced 3nm process and offers a significantly enhanced performance compared to its predecessor, including:

  • 23% better GPU performance for gaming

  • 37% faster Hexagon NPU supports advanced AI

  • 35% power savings

Some regions may instead use Samsung’s in-house Eyxnos 2600 chip, but it’s thought that this includes only the base S26

Despite this, leaked Geekbench scores for the S26 Ultra are noticeably lower than other models that have the same Qualcomm chip. This includes the OnePlus 15 and even Samsung’s own S26 Plus! However, the 8 Elite Gen 5 still offers slight improvements from the Galaxy S25 series. The S26 Ultra also has a higher multi-core score than the iPhone 17 Pro Max!

FCC regulatory filings for the Galaxy S26 Ultra suggest the same battery capacity as the previous six models: 5000 mAh. The Snapdragon processor should deliver enhanced power efficiency, while the Ultra’s jump to 60 W wired and 25 W Qi2 wireless speeds support even faster charging!

  1. Cameras

An X post from Saudi Android shows what looks like the S26 Ultra with a pill-shaped camera island housing its quadruple camera setup, rather than the traditional floating lenses. Its sensors look significantly larger than the S25 Ultra, measuring around 7 to 8 mm thick.

This may be thanks to a wider aperture rumored for the 200 MP main and 50 MP 5x telephoto lenses. If true, this would support enhanced low-light photography.

Our main S26 Ultra dilemma comes from the 3x telephoto camera. Earlier reports mentioned this remaining at 10 megapixels. However, it’s now thought that the punch-hole lens could be upgraded to 12 MP, helping you take even higher quality group selfies with a wider field of view.

How Much Will the Galaxy S26 Ultra Cost?

The S26 Ultra may set you back $1,399, $100 more than its predecessor. But despite talk of rising prices, this is yet to be confirmed.

Samsung wants to maintain the $1,299 starting price. According to a South Korean news outlet, a trusted industry insider says the company is “doing their best to ensure the price of the Ultra, the most expensive model in Korea, does not exceed 2 million won,” which is equivalent to around $1,357.

A potential price hike could be due to the global memory chip shortage, meaning the Ultra’s components would cost at least three times more. But rather than increasing the end user’s cost, Samsung may instead consider reducing marketing expenses or adjusting its sales strategies – reducing the pre-order discounts and high trade-in values usually available in the first year, for instance.

Our Verdict on the Galaxy S26 Ultra Specs

You’ll have to wait until February 25 for our final verdict, when Samsung confirms these rumored specs. However, the leaks so far look incredibly promising, making the S26 Ultra one of this year’s most anticipated Android flagships.

Along with a sleek redesign, the Ultra’s new Snapdragon chip offers greater power efficiency and gaming performance, even if it does fall slightly behind the S26 Plus and other Android phones. We’re also impressed by the six color options, including the standout Cobalt Violet shade

The potential memory chip shortage-induced price hike could affect most smartphone manufacturers. All new flagship phones would be more expensive as a result, meaning it’s difficult to say whether or not the S26 Ultra is worth the investment.
