Google Pixel 10 Specs: What Does the New Pixel 10 Look Like?

The Pixel 10 is finally here! Launched on August 20, 2025, Google’s 10th flagship generation hit store shelves on August 28, featuring many exciting hardware updates.

Plenty of rumors in the build-up to its release gave us some hints at what the Pixel 10 range could look like, with leaked CAD renders teasing new colors and a redesigned camera bar. While some rumors proved correct, other features only became clear after the annual Made by Google launch event.

Google says the Pixel 10 series offers the “most personalized, proactive, and helpful Pixels ever,” and we thoroughly agree. In this article, we’ll explain exactly why by providing a round-up of the Pixel 10’s newest design and on-device features.

Before we jump into its key features, here’s a quick overview of the base Pixel 10’s tech specs:

What New Design Features Does the Google Pixel 10 Offer?

With its upgraded peak brightness and new camera lens, the latest Pixel 10 looks and feels even closer to a premium Pro device than any other Pixel. Here’s why:

Frame & Display

The Google Pixel 10 maintains the premium design of the Pixel 9, with a satin finish and a fingerprint-resistant coating. 

Its spacecraft-grade aluminum frame is made from 100% recycled materials, using the most recycled content of any Pixel yet. A scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 cover glass and polished back also remain. These features combine to provide a durable IP68 dust and water resistance rating.

Google’s latest release keeps the Pixel’s iconic elongated camera bar on the back, which cleverly differentiates it from iPhone devices. However, there are rumors that Apple could use a similar camera bar design for its new iPhone 17.

A 6.3-inch Actua display with the same 60-120 Hz adaptable refresh rate as the Pixel 9 also features. However, the Pixel 10 has a higher peak brightness of up to 3000 nits, versus its predecessor’s 2700 nits.

Colors

Thanks to official renders that Google accidentally leaked on its Google Play Store app, we knew exactly which new colors to expect for the Pixel 10 range before its release. Four shades are available, including two new options to choose from:

• Obsidian (black)

• Indigo (blue)

• Frost (light blue)

• Limoncello (yellow-green)

Camera Features

This year’s model is the first base Pixel to have a triple camera system, bringing it closer in line with the Pro devices. With the Pixel 10 comes a brand new 10.8 MP Telephoto camera, featuring a 5x optical zoom lens that iincreases up to 20x with Super Res Zoom.

However, Google has had to make sacrifices to include this third lens, which is why the 48 MP Main and 13 MP Ultra-Wide camera specs are lower than the Pixel 9. And while it may offer a great camera quality, the base Pixel 10 doesn’t feature 8K recording or Video Boost like the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL models.

Does the Pixel 10 Have Any Software & Performance Upgrades?

The Pixel 10 is powered by the latest Tensor G5 chip and a new Gemini Nano, Google’s most intelligent AI model yet. These features unlock even more on-device generative AI experiences and performance upgrades, which are designed to make your everyday life easier.

Tensor G5

Google has introduced a new custom-designed mobile processor to its Pixel 10 range: the Tensor G5. 

Manufactured using TSMC’s leading 3 nm process, the chip offers a 60% more powerful TPU and 34% faster CPU. Both TPU and CPU facilitate an improved AI performance for better photography, a longer battery life, faster web browsing, and more.

Like its predecessor, the Tensor G5 is supported by 12 GB RAM. A higher 16 GB of RAM is reserved for the Pro models.

Battery Life

One feature we particularly love about the Pixel 10 is its longer battery life. 

Google claims that every phone should last over 30 hours thanks to the Tensor G5, although actual battery tests report averages of around 13 hours — a solid improvement over the Pixel 9. This also comes from the slightly larger battery capacity,  at 4970 mAh versus the previous generation’s 4700 mAh.

Alongside faster 30 W wired charging speeds, we also get to experience the benefits of Qi2 wireless charging up to 15W. However, the standard model doesn’t support the latest Qi2.2 standard, which is reserved for the Pixel 10 Pro XL.

Google has also created a range of new Pixelsnap accessories, including Qi2-compatible cases and wireless charging pucks. However, they are pretty pricy. The good news is that the Pixel 10 is compatible with cheaper third-party Pixel 10 accessories that work just as effectively!

Software and AI

All Pixel devices have received new Google AI features, including the Pixel Watch. However, many of the upgrades Google unveiled at its event will only be available on the Pixel 10 series. 

Along with new journaling and translator apps, the base device benefits from a variety of AI camera tools. 

This includes Camera Coach, which improves your shots with real-time tips on composition, lighting, framing, and more. Ask Photos is a Pixel 10-exclusive feature (for now!) that uses generative AI to make edits based on simple spoken or typed descriptions.

Another key AI upgrade is the Magic Cue tool, which makes suggestions based on your phone’s activity across multiple Google apps. It automatically finds flight details from your email account, for example, and then shares them with friends or provides relevant recommendations for nearby dinner addresses.

The Pixel 10 also benefits from seven years of OS and security updates, although you won’t get the free 1-year Google AI Pro subscription unless you purchase one of the Pro models.

Is the Google Pixel 10 Worth It?

If you’re thinking of upgrading to the Google Pixel 10 from an older model, we’d definitely recommend investing. The range begins at $799 for the lowest storage option, and it’s great to see the same keep starting price after two years of increases. Look for carrier and retailer trade-in deals to find even better discounts.

If you’re looking for a complete design overhaul, you’re better off sticking with your current device. However, the performance upgrades and new AI features that come from the Tensor G5, plus a completely new Telephoto camera, make Google’s latest flagship device a worthwhile purchase for the price.
